As Ai does everything it can to take our jobs, Ai art has flooded Etsy in the last year or so. With entire stores making 6 figures, and racking up thousands of sales with shoddy, unoriginal artwork made by Ai image generators.
Etsy was once a place that claimed to ‘keep commerce human’. But Ai art and drop shipping has led to Etsy feeling oversaturated and full of outright garbage. You might as we shopping on Amazon, Temu and Wish, as Etsy is now a shadow of its former self.

Ever since the American company Mondelez (Formerly Kraft) bought Cadbury in 2010, the classic brand has seen a steady decline
The classic British brand has suffered through changing recipes to resemble horrendous American chocolate, shrinkflation and bland advertising. Cadbury is now just another cog in a huge corporate machine, and a shell of its former self.

Since the 1800s with coffee stunting growth and the early 1900s with health claims around orange juice, making stuff up in marketing has been a fairly common strategy. Going far beyond just embellishing the truth, some brands will outright lie.
These include the claim that Alpecin shampoo can prevent hair loss, drinking 8 glasses of water, Sunny Delight being made with real fruit juice, and the origins of the now ubiquitous 10k steps a day.
Here are 5 (or 6) examples of myths invented by marketing.

In less than 10 years, Castore has managed to become the supplier for a number of Premier League and European teams, as well as supplying England, the West Indies and South Africa in international cricket.
But in a few seasons, Castore has been holding a masterclass on how to lose all their Premier League contracts. Suffering from horrendous quality control while struggling to fulfil orders. Even with these issues, Castore recently hit a near £1 billion valuation. Despite losing their contract with Aston Villa a few months later

I left Rome behind and headed deep into the mountains of Italy to a village called Maenza… where you can literally buy a house for $1.
This place feels like stepping back in time. Empty homes, ancient streets, old locals with unbelievable stories, and a town desperately trying to bring life back into it before it disappears forever.
I wanted to see if this was actually real… and whether anyone could genuinely start a new life here for the price of a coffee.
This turned into one of the most unique adventures I’ve had in Europe.
Would you move here for $1?

Looking at the recent changes of youtube channel WTF1's hosts and the comparisons being made to the British version of Top Gear.

With Christmas upon us, Dublin most famous pub is covered in Christmas lights and festive decorations. While the Temple Bar Pub may look great on social media, the actually experience of visiting this pub is overrated, overcrowded and overpriced with pints setting you back over 10 euros.
A combination of branding, social media, SEO and good timing are likely responsible for the pub's popularity. As now this quaint Irish pub has become a tourist trap within a tourist trap, and another item to tick off your bucket list.

In May 2026, TGJones (formerly WHSmith) will be closing 150 high street shops. It’s sad yet predictable news for the struggling high street chain.
Since the rebrand in 2025, WHSmith’s new name has not gone down well with the general public. The shops still feel dated and there’s so much product confusion it's difficult to know where to start.
Along with Royal Mail’s name change to Consignia, Weightwatchers becoming WW, and Warner Brothers not knowing what to call their HBO streaming service, this is a prime example of how to rebrand. Especially when you have the history dating back to the late 1700s.
Thank your to @Larry Bundy Jr for the tip regarding Consignia

Aldi has built a billion-dollar business by selling products that look surprisingly familiar. From packaging and branding to store layouts, how close can a supermarket get to the competition without crossing the legal line?
In this video, we explore how Aldi uses "lookalike" products, why it's sparked lawsuits around the world, and the clever legal strategies that let the company keep doing it—most of the time.
Have you ever been to the another country and seen the same logo with a very different name. Or cars that look very familiar, but have a completely different badge. It’s as if you’ve accidentally stepped into another dimension
There are plenty of examples such as Lynx and Axe, Galaxy and Dove, Vauxhall and Opel, and Burger King and the Australian counterpart Hungry Jack’s.
In one weird case, there are dozens of ice creams brands that have been using the exact same logo since the 1990s. But with a different name tailored to another country.
